In Production - Wedding Invites

I am in the process of producing 100 foil blocked wedding invitations.
It's a tedious process, but so far I am enjoying it!

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Catalogue 2011 Pitch

Development on my pitch for the BA (Hons) fashion design catalogue for the Manchester School of Art course. Keeping the layouts simple, my theme was based around subtle connotations of machine sewn lines, relating back to a tool which is highly used by the students on the fashion course.
There are also full bleed spreads which allow a breather while viewing the catalogue; photographs taken within the studios. They allow an insight into their personal workspace, without taking away the ‘professional’ look that the students wanted.

*NOTE*
The photographs of the models are ones that have been taken in past years from the course.  This was due to it being a pitch that was showing what I could do with the design aspect of the catalogue and which photographs I felt worked. BUT the full bleed photographs are ones taken by myself of the studio.

Women in Flatland.

A book representing the way in which Women are percieved in Flatland, concentrating on the chapter ‘Concerning the Women’.
In the novel Women are described in a negative manner, therefore after finding the descriptions offensive, I wanted to play on the way they could be percieved.
Using tools such as a needle and the notions of lines I produced a delicate and intricate piece.  I altered the book physically, to create a perception of Women which reflects their beauty in a positive manner within Flatland.
I kept the book white as there was no talk of colour within the chapter and I wanted the book to be purely on the subject, with no distraction.

Static.

Motionless
Your body may become
Not moving
But your thoughts
Will keep running
A never ending mind
To a never ending soul
Is impossible.

This project focussed on a piece of writing I had written to express how I felt about the subject of being static.
A book was produced, visualising static with the imagery of a still clock.  The clock referring to ones perception of being static and the atmosphere being the change of movement and time.  The stock reinforces the hazyness of thought; tracing paper to allow hints of the following text and shadows to be seen.  The text is typewritten manually to add to the personal touch of the message.

Flatland Experiments

Some experiments for my current brief; Flatland.  Using the negative way in which women are perceived in the novel 'Flatland' and presenting them in a beautifully intricate, yet destructive way.
